Music

 The Music Ministry of Watson Memorial United Methodist Church is dedicated to praising God through music and to providing opportunities for individuals of all ages to play and sing praises to God’s glory.  

There are many opportunities for both children and adults to participate in the music activities of the church.  The experience of praising God through Christian music begins at an early age!  The Music Ministry includes a children's chimes choir for children ages 7-12 (2^nd grade through 7^th grade), WMUMC Chancel Choir (adult choir), and Watson Ringers, a handbell choir.  There are also musical opportunities for children during Vacation Bible School.  Practice of VBS music begins in the spring.

The Chancel Choir leads in the Classic Worship Service and the other choirs perform periodically in the 11:00 Worship Service and during special services and events.  There are also opportunities for musicians to perform as soloists and in small groups in both worship services and in special music performances.  In addition to weekly services the Music Ministry offers programs such as the annual Christmas Cantata presentation.

A newly forming Praise Ensemble blends some of the newer Praise Songs into our worship experiences.

Whatever your musical talents – singing or playing – we have opportunities in our Music Ministry for you!  We invite you to come and share in our wonderful ministry of serving our Lord through music.  We are always in need of more ringers and singers!  No musical experience is needed or required; only a willing heart and a positive spirit.  You will find that participation in one of our choirs is also a great opportunity for Christian fellowship.
